Planned Itinerary

The following itinerary is provided as a guideline only and may be subject to change based on weather or local conditions that could impact our movements.

This is the beauty of journeys like these – the unexpected is ever-present, making the adventure even more powerful.

October 19: Welcome upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, then transfer to your hotel.
October 20: Equipment check and rest day after the long journey to Nepal.
October 21: Flight to Lukla (2840m) followed by a trek to Payia (2730m) – 3-4 hours
October 22: Trek from Payia to Pangoma (2850m) – 5-6 hours
October 23: Trek Pangoma to Ning So (2850m) – 3-4 hours
October 24: Trek from Ning So to Jungle Camp (3160m) – 6-7 hours
October 25: Trek from Jungle Camp to Kote (3600m) – 5-6 hours
October 26: Trek from Kote to Tangnag (4260m) – 5-6 hours
October 27: Acclimatization day in Tangnag + ascent of our first 5000m peak (Tangnag Ri, 5000m)
October 28: Trek from Tangnag to Khare (4900m) – 4-5 hours
October 29: Acclimatization/rest day in Khara, and reserve day
October 30: Trek from Khare to Mera Peak Base Camp (5200m) – 4-5 hours (tent accommodation)
October 31: Trek from Base Camp to High Camp (5800m) – 5-6 hours (tent accommodation)
November 1: The big day! Mera Peak ascent overnight and descent to Khare
November 2: Trek from Khare to Kote
November 3: Trek from Kote to Chetrawa
November 4: Trek from Chetrawa to Lukla
November 5: Return to Kathmandu
November 6: Reserve day (does not mean we won’t do anything! These days will be used as needed, based on weather or participant conditions. Having three reserve days ensures a smooth progression of our adventure without stress related to dates. Nature doesn’t always play by the rules, so it’s possible we may be delayed a day due to rain, for example. It would be unfortunate not to have an extra day to fulfill our objectives.) During the last trek, we utilized our last free day for a professional photo session with makeup artists and photographers at a legendary location in Kathmandu – you can see this photo in the photo gallery.
November 7: Departure

Reserve days allow us to handle unforeseen circumstances without sacrificing crucial moments of the adventure. For instance, if the group wishes to stay an extra day in a village during the first part of the trek, that’s entirely possible. Or if weather conditions don’t permit a departure on October 20, or an ascent on October 28, etc. If everything goes without a single modification, we will take advantage of the time to explore the surroundings of Kathmandu, its temples, and other legendary places.
